your valve covers are more than likely leaking... try tightening down the screws, you'll probably find they are loose :)

Did you buy a new car? no
Did he twist your arm and MAKE you buy it? I doubt it
Is it his fault you didnt do a very thorough inspection of the car prior to buying it? no

Buyer beware!

besides, the things you have mentioned about the car on here that I have read dont lead me to believe there is anything major wrong with the car. Just the average kind of things you will find wrong with 95% of the used cars on the market.

I just bought my Supra less than a month ago. I spent a full 2 hours going over (and under) the car, asking questions, and digging for clues. I forgot to check the radiator fluid...its brown, the front rotors are warped and develop a wobble over 70MPH (which I didnt notice on my test drive). The ignition has been jumpered in the past, and the clutch interlock switch was cut, and the security system bypasssed. The front end has signs of repaired body damage that wasnt exactly professionally repaired...all stuff I missed before I bought it. I aslo discovered it uses about a quart of oil a tankful, and I too had some oil in with my spark plugs.

Am I mad at the guy I bought it from? hell no...he only answered the questions I asked, and didnt volunteer anything more. Thats my fault not his. Do I love my car? Hell YES! Im out there nearly every day, tinkering with stuff and making it "my own"

I dont mean this as an insult, just an observation...I guess your age to be 20-22 - old enough to know better but not experienced enough to know that.

Keep plugging away at that car and making it a worthy ride...and along the way you just might learn something!

its not even that , it was raining heavily in chicago when we were doing negotiations so no chance to inspect it thoroughly that might be my fault but , i remember he clearly said that it had just went through a thourough (dunno how to spell it) tune up , so ok he showed me the reciepts nd everything and the day that i bought the car could do a final check beacuse i was at work and we only had so much time, basically it was jus me handing him the money and him handing me the car keys, what pissed me off was i visited the shop , and i was so pissed it was jus his friends working on cars , i swaer to god u couldnt even call it a shop it looks jus like sumbody's garage , and when i askd them about the car they knew about it , and did do any work close to what he said

thats what pissed me off

to make matters worst
he said he did me a favor by lowering the price from 2200 to 2000
he didnt jus lower the price jus out of nowhere
he did it because the passenger window gets stuck on one point and wont go back up anymore
and the driver side door handle is loose
i was jus pissd
maybe i overreacted but what can i do he he he

on another note tho

do u guys think its gonna be worth it to drop a 2jz on my catera,

i had it lookd at b4 they said they can do it but its gonna cost me
i know not a lot of people use this car for racing but i love this car i couldnt even bear to sell it, belive it or not it does almost exactly same 1/4 times as a stock supra
its tenths of a second diffrence
what do u guys think?
