help with a brake issue
 

I just changed my brake master cylinder and still have beyond spongy brakes! I can hear a little bit of air coming from the booster and get absolutely no brakes. I also tried to cross bleed my brakes and I get absolutely no fluid coming out of the rear brakes. any ideas? Could it be the brake lines? If I have to change my brake booster do I have to remove the dash? I looked at tsrm but it doesnt say anything about the dash and am curious? Also, when I put the brake master cylinder on I didn't bleed the cylinder, well my budddy said that it was not necessary, so i said fawk it and just installed it and tried to bleed my brakes. i'm getting ready to camo my beast and its making me want to blow this bad boy up! any help would be great guys and gals

Since you did not bleed the new master on the workbench, you likely SENT a bunch of air into the lines.

KEEP The Master full of fluid !!!

First, get a friend to help (sit in car and press brake pedal up and down on your command), and your wrench on the 2 lines coming out of the master. Have friend pump pedal 3-4x then hold it down. Crack open the lines. The pedal will fall, and fluid and air will come out, tighten lines, then say "up" to friend.
Do this 4-5x or more until air does not spit out at the lines you are bleeding.

Tighten lines, firm but don't overtighten.

Now that your master is bled, go to the right rear caliper and do the above steps ("down....up) until only fluid comes out. I like to attach a 12-18" piece of vacuum line to the bleeder screw, then into a coke bottle to keep the mess down, and I can see into the bottle when the bubbles stop.

Also, you can buy a one man brake bleeding kit at a parts store. It has a gun type vacuum pump to suck the fluid from the master to the caliper.

Keep master full !!!

Next do the left rear. Then the right front, and finally the left front. This order is the correct way.

Then report back to let us know how it turns out.

man I'm going to give this a whirl tomorrow since I dont have to work. man, if this doesn't work I'm just buying a brake booster and new brake lines and saying fawk it! haha no but I am still replacing all of the above but hopefully not until after I spray my camo paint. thanks again! I'll keep ya posted and what not.

thanks alot for the advice because it worked. I just need to change the rear calipers/rotora/pads and I'll be done. I appreciate the help. I've replaced the ecu, fuel pump/filter, ISC, front rotors/calipers/pads, and the rear is next and then some stainless steel lines so I'll be stopping on a dime. know of any good quality low price lines? And again thanks for all the help, I couldn't have got my car done without this forum
