I am looking at an 86.5 supra. don't know too much about supras, and there some issues with the car. The speedo not working, at all and the body is kind of rough with rust. the car reads a little over 170,000, seems to start fine but do these cars have alot of common problems . I do realize that any cars condition depends on it's previous owner. any help ?

The most common problem is a blown head gasket. Check that 1st, cuz that in it's self is from $1500 to $2500 to fix. Other wise they are solid cars. I would continue to look for one with a little less damage. Even if it's just alot of little things, they add up in a hurry. That cherry is out there and you will find it.
