Interior Smell?

Hey all. My car kinda smells like an old car. What could I do?

I was thinking of an interior wash (it's a dry wash, the people in the shop told me), and also something they call "ozone whatever", which is basically an extractor pulling out the air from the inside of the car.. yeah, something so easy and dumb and they charge so much =P

Also, when I turn A/C on, the first 10 secs it kinda blows "old air".. I mean, once again air that kinda gives the impression of being in an old car. DOn't get me wrong, one can ride perfectly in the car, it's just a slight odor, you forget about it after a minute inside the car. I changed the A/C filter (along with gas and oil filter) a week ago, so it can't be that. What could it be? The A/C ducts/tubes/pipes/whatever-you-call-them ?

Just wondering if someone else has/had this problem... ;)

I ordered the Eibach's today. Damn, 39 pounds overseas.. not cool. Now all left for looks is the 89+ mouldings. Any1's got the complete set? PM me! =) (shipping to Miami, Florida, I take care from there).

Lysol

The smell is a common problem with many cars. It is mold and mildew that builds up in the a/c box under the dash. Mine had it at the beginning of last summer.

They sell kits that help get rid of it. Pepboys advertises it in the summer. Like $25-30.

I bought a big spraycan of Lemon scent Lysol deoderizer/sanitizer at wallyworld for like $4.

I ran the a/c and fan on high speed and sprayed it into the intake ducts on the outside, in front of the windshield. I tried to get to the inside intake, but its buried under the dash behind the glove box.

I used 1/2 the can then shut it off to let it sit and do its thing. It kills the bacteria that cause the stink. BTW...the stink is the bacteria's FARTS.

I used the other 1/2 of the can about 2 weeks later. I have not smelled any stink since.

Why thank you for letting me know it's FARTS I'm smelling there! Jeez, I wont turn that on anymore!!!

Gonna try and buy a deodorizer and do what you did then.
