I want to keep my 81 5ME powered Supra original, but do crave a little more power to keep up with todays speeds. I would stray from original enough to install a turbo or supercharger, but have never had any luck finding help with the subject. Not looking for a rocket, just a few more ponies. I have owned this car for 20 years and wanted to give it an anniversary present this year. Anyone know of anything that might help me? Thanks

the easy one for your car is to swap an mid 85-86 of the mk2 motor to your mk1 than it sure fit perfect no engine mount modify...so such such.....so yeah thats a pretty quick run t ho...hope that help you a bit...

if you really want to get adventurous you could turbo charge your 5me

Thanks for the input. Mine is a 5ME and not the later twin cam motor, so turbos are not as easy. Still like to find a company that might try the turbo swap on it.

TURBO A SUPRA!! ALWAYS!! it sounds better, it gives it a hole mess of horses, i dont think its THAT expensive, TURBO IT!!

well then i would look at doing the straight 7mgte swap or even the 7mge and when you gather a bit more cash then turbo it :)
