Supra Newbie

I am purchasing a non turbo 1987 Supra.

I am doing a full off rebuild on whatever I buy. Since I have a body shop I am doing a custom paint job and fully custom interior.

What I need help with is the engine.

Does the '87 NA engine need to be completely rebuilt to handle a turbo?

Which, if any MKIV engines will fit?

Also what are some good sites for more Supra info?

Thanks

Kyle

I have done several engine swaps on BMWs so this is not new too me. Just gathering some knowledge.

No, the NA motor doesn't NEED to be rebuilt to handle a turbo.
Make sure you keep the air/fuel ratio at a stoichiometric(pardon the spelling) level.

And I'm going to drop a 2jz motor into a Supra, as soon as I find the appropriate car. From what I can tell, ECU and everything else aside, all it requires to physically get the motor under the hood is a new set of motor mounts.

jester you got the spelling right, though for the na motor to handle a turbo you dont necessarily need a rebuild if you plan on running stock psi...8-9, if you want big power and more psi...then u will def need it or risk blowing the motor
