Headlight retainers?

Hello,
I need your help in finding a part for my sons car..1987 Toyota Supra..He had a wreck about two months ago and we now have the hood...finders..and we went and got new headlights and now he says he can not find the silver piece that holds the light in...Yes him and his friend took the car apart..no money to take to the shop...now before you say to much please remember they are both only 16 and the have replaces both finders, hood and bumper! He went to the junk yard and found a car paid for the front parts....they took over three weeks to get him the part and they were not the best parts...I wonder if an Older person would have been treated this was? Oh dont mind me I'm just a mother sounding off!!

Please if anyone knows where we might find this part...I think it called a Headlight Retainer...Please email us and let us know.

Re: Headlight Retainers

I sent you an e-mail but I don't know if it got through. I will check my garage this weekend, I might have what you need. If not, most Toyota dealers have service, parts departments and this item is almost definitely available. I had some front end damage and was able to get almost everything from the dealer. You don't find too many Supras in junkyards these days, but wouldn't you know it, 1 week after spending $700 for parts I found one right in my town that was compatible for what I needed. Oh well, I did get some parts off that, but when I went back, the guy told me he put it in the crusher. I couldn't believe it. An 87 Supra in the crusher. Some people must have ice in their veins.

Sincerely,

James in NJ

Yep...sometimes the wrecking yards have a 'special' that you can pay like $200, and spend the whole day stipping parts off of a car. A guy I know does this.

Now me, if "I" went to the bone yard for a day, I would bring my truck, lunch & sodas (for energy), toolbox, WD40, and a 12v air compressor and airtools, a big jug to piss in (so not to waste time), & I'd bust a nut & 'get my $$$ worth' !!
