Mkiii w58 vs mkii w58

Does anyone possibly know the difference in length of the two transmissions from the bell housing to the tail shaft, and from the bell housing to the front side of the shifter? I accidentally got a mkii w58 for my 89 to do a swap from auto to manual and I'm trying to weigh my options here. Any help greatly appreciated 😄 thanks!
