1991 Turbo Supra Smokes When Starts
I have a 1991 single turbo Supra, it runs fine but when i cold start it it smokes, the smoke has a weird smell to it to. Im wondering if anyone else has this issue or knows what may be causing this.

Keep an eye on your overflow coolant bottle. If you start having to ad coolant to it, you got a BHG most likely. Worn valve guide seals will allow oil to seep into the engine combustion chamber as it cools down. When you start up, it will burn off the oil, and after it is up to normal temp, it quits smoking. A lot of work to replace seals.

if it's blue smoke on startup = valve seals
white smoke on startup/warm up = condensation how long does it smoke for on startup? |
weird smell...its probably your valve seals...u gotta change them

My guess would be valve seals too, you dont have to change them, it will just smoke on cold start up like most older cars with miles do... One of these days they should be changed tho.

wow, that's familiar. hey does this cloud of smoke hide the car ? have you drilled out a catalytic converter recently ? my sup started doing that a few days after i drilled out the cat, so i thought it was just condensation. even got a few people to confirm that it was just condensation. you don't want it to hydrolic any valves when it finally blows the rest of the way through.
