Help-quick question from new supra owner
Hey, sorry if this has been asked before, did a quick search for lsd and got no results. Ive recently purchased a mk3 supra twin turbo 1ggteu (i think) and was just wondering if they came with LSD or not. All help appreciated
Cheers Ben |
wuts 1ggteu? is that the engine? that doenst look like a familiar supra engine code to me...might it be the chassis code? i doubt it...
|
could be wrong about the engine code, thats just what a mate said. its the 2L twin turbo...
1ggteu is a dohc 16 valve inline 6 1988cc... checked it out here http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/P...neEngines.html and it seemed to fit the description... will know for sure this saturday when i pick it up EDIT-found out yesterday, the engine code is indeed 1ggteu, model number is ga70 |
well i think thats the engine code for an mk2...since u said in ur previous post its an mk3...it would either be a 7mgte or a 7mge depending on if it is turbo or not and from my understanding it was 3L not 2...
|
:dunno: everyone has told the ga70 is a mk3, the registration says its an 87, although these have been known to be inaccurate... will post up some pics on the weekend, and you can tell me what you think-cause id really like to know for sure :)
... and slightly ot, but suprra girl, you wouldnt happen to be THE supra girl, of such infamy on nz300zx would you? |
in the meantime, found this:

As far as I know, all turbo models came standard with a LSD.
|
the 1ggte lives in JDM Land ;)
generally teh way it is.... if it has a 3 or a 5 at the end e.g g255 it's an lsd if it's g254 then it's non lsd it should say under transaxle code :) |
oops-yea probably should have mentioned it was an import-i think we sorta take that for granted in nz.. too many cheap imports :D pick the car up tomorrow, cant wait
|
ahhh im soo confused...all im sayin is that...i have a 7mgte that imma take out to swap with a 1jz...anyone interested in takin a nice 7m motor? the t stands for turrrrbooo

Hella Clean.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
|
pretty tidy ;)
wherebouts do you live? if you havne't figured out i'm in nz too hehe now all ya gotta do is get sum wheels and replace those stock ones, lower it, get widebody front guards and lotsa mods!! :p there's nothin like a mk3 supra!!! ;) |
cheers :) yea i figured you were in nz, im up in auckland... those stock rims will be going eventually, to be replaced with some nice 17s or 18s, and adjustable platforms, but first im just going to do some general maintenance, oils, filters, metal headgasket and an ebc.. THEN some of the outside stuff. Will also be removing the rear seats, if anyone is looking for some burgundy ones
