i think it is possible to do that...the only difference is the air flow through the intake...it might be different for a turbo engine, but it still allows more air into the motor so i am assuming that you could put one on ur na supra, its like a custom intake that people do for cars that arent applicable, they make custom piping and stick a k&n filter on top...usually it works because there is no air restrictions, this will be the same idea
