Just thought I'd say Hi so..... Hi... I'm Dan.

I've not got me a Supra just yet although I have my eye very firmly on a tidy looking Black '89 3.0turbo with an autobox. I say tidy, it is bodywise very good & the interior won't be bad once little trim bits are fixed. Enginewise it came into a friends engine machining shop about 4 years ago for a full rebuild (rebore, o/s pistons, bottom end, head skim & valves/cams etc & recon turbo) which has been done. What happened next is strange in that the owner promptly paid for the work & then vapourised, no contact whatsoever, so now the car's likely being sold off to cover storage costs.

The car still doesn't run quite right however, the idle speed had to be jacked way up to not stall so I'm told. (not heard it run as battery is dead, but the guy who owns the yard is there tomorrow so I'm going back for a proper look & listen) Really I need to make sure I am getting the car before delving too deep into what the problem could be but I'm thinking maybe a bad CTS or idle control valve, or maybe one of the many vacuum pipes is perished? Either way I'm glad I found this forum as it looks like any info. I need will be here or hereabouts.

Anyhow, I'm gonna hit post now before the post turns into a novel & I'll get back on the case when I know more.

Cheers, Dan.

Hi & welcome you too sir. I certainly have been seen "around" on here of late, the forum's been a boon as far as getting the beast running right is concerned. (Since that post I've done a deal & started work on the car, fixing various niggles with the TPS, AFM & turbo pipework to make it run nicely).

I've now just got to wait for paperwork (hopefully next few days), drag it home, replace the temp. gauge sender & give the system a good burping before cleaning her up & booking in for an MoT test.

Cheers, Dan.
