i have a 1988 supra turbo automatic and in the top gear when u hammer on it the boost builds up to 6.5 and pulls until it starts letting go and pulling really quikly like its slipping kindof i dont know what it is anyone got a clue ??

it almost feels like something is skipping it will pull hard then shimmy kind of it also is hesitant wit the rpms sometimes

Sounds like the tranny is going out, there are bands (clutches to us normal folk LOL) between the gears, sounds like the band between 3rd and 4th are going out.

Well, it could also be a line pressure problem, as the bands are pushed together by pressure, if it's not high enough, it will slip.
Take it to a tranny shop and have em look it over, get a few opinions on it and see how it goes... |
