my first post :P
what are the engine codes for supras? hp, year and model? i know most honda engines but idk supra engines. a little info about me; im 16 years old, male, i live in PA, and i would LOVE to get an mkIV. i know its not really likely to get one as my first car but hey i can dream right?
nice to meet you, nd thanks in advance for any help you can give me
there was another post requesting engine codes, but didnt have to hp and year/model for them

hey :) welcome to our forums

7mgte = 230hp 86-92 3.0 turbo mk3
7mge = 200hp 86-92 3.0 non turbo mk3
1ggte = 210hp 86-92 2l twin turbo mk3
1gge = 190hp? 86-92 2l non turbo mk3
1jzgte = 280hp 90-92 2.5 twin turbo mk3
2jzge = 200hp? 93-98 3.0 non turbo mk4
2jzgte = 280hp 93 -98 3.0 twin turbo mk4

a mk3 would be a good start for ya but beware... they are a money pit... they are at least 10yrs old so expect to spend some money ;)
you'll find a few mk3 owners that want mk4's but most usually own a mk3 coz they love the mk3 not coz they want a mk4 hehe
good luck getting your dream car :)

Is there any way you can tell the yearmodel of the motor by using the engine number? :rolleyes:

Jester 11-29-2004 07:53 PM

liek is the date hidden in the number? no.

but if oyu know the code, and you see it on the engine, youll be able to know the year of the engine, and what it has, (n/a, or turbo) and the hp.

thats pretty much it. its useful if you are buying from someone, and they try and sell you a supra that has been swapped. you will know all the spec of the new engine,
