I have a 1988 Supra non turbo 7MGE engine. I can't seem to find a superchager for it. Does anybody know if one is available for it, if so what kind and where can I find it. I want to make this car fast. Please help.

not one specifically for it, at least that i've seen. you can get a custom one, by procharger or rippmods.

Supercharger

PROCHARGER HAS ONE THAT CAN BE USED. CHECK OUT...http://www.horsepowerfreaks.com/pric.../Superchargers I'VE ALSO HEARD OF ONE FROM A SUPERBIRD BEING USED, WITH CUSTOM MOUNTS OBVIOUSLY.

Haha I Know. But It's All About Doing Something No One Else Has Right? Just Think Of The Fun.

I have a 1988 toyota supra also. I have been to that web site many time and ask myself "Do I want to do a swap or put a supercharger on. I just recently had my engine replaced on my 1988 supra. I am wondering if I should have changed to a turbo then. However, I would assume that a supercharger is just as good, if not better than a turbo charger. I say this becouse there are no electonics involved. I will be taking my supra in to a custom shop this winter to have either a supercharger or an engine swap. If I do the engine swap I am going to put the 1jz engine in. I am looking to smoke some ford mustangs next summer so I am looking to sup my supra up.

with a supercharger you still need some electronics, its not like its an intake which is a simple bolton you can put in and forget about, a turbo requires a litle more maintenance like oil press, oil temp, boost levels, and a lot of guages to monitor its performance, but supercharger also needs some of these things especially oil press and temp, and you will also need to monitor the boost levels so there are no unexpected surges, gotta watch out for backpressure thats a biatch, a turbo needs a turbo timer to cool whereas a supercharger doesnt, there are plusses to putting a turbo in and plusses to putting a supercharger in, both need electronics to run properly, especially either a piggyback or a standalone, ive seen a friend blow his motor because of a boost surge from a supercharger because he did not monitor the engine vitals, dont worry though...it was one of those crappy firebirds from teh 80's
