Help with new gauges!!!
Hey guys I just got my hands on a boost gauge and air/fuel ratio gauge. On the air fuel where does the purple wire go when you are running a catless straight pipe exahaust? and on the boost gauge where is the best place to tap into the vacuum line? Thanks!!

I connected the boost gauge to the pipe going to the pressure sensor using a T connector, the air/fuel gauge wire I connected to the odd coloured wire going to the oxygen (lambda) sensor. There are three wires for the oxygen sensor, two are the same colour and one is a different colour, splice in your purple wire to the odd coloured wire.

thanks a bunch im guna have a go at it in a little while ill let you know how i do!

the o2 sensor is by the cat isnt it so if i have a catless exhaust will the guage still function properly?
|
The o2 (oxygen) sensor is located on the exhaust elbow (marked with a yellow arrow) make the connection in the cable as faraway as possible from the heat. I connected mine where the wires run near the cam-positioning sensor.
PS. I have no cat’s only one dog. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b5...f/DSCF1551.jpg |
lol
it measures way before both the pre cat and the main cat |
boost gauge = sucessful
i am going to attempt the air/fuel now thanks!!! |
ok i started wiring it but it started raining so i am going to have to finish it tomorrow. Behind the turbo I see 3 wires running into a thin bar then piping and 2 are black and on 1 blue so i am guessing that i tap into the blue?

ok i hooked it up and nothing its going on. when the purple wire wasnt connected it just read rich to the max all the time but now that i hooked it up it and when i start the car it shows lean then goes to nothing. Do I need to be traveling fast for it to kick in I didnt drive it really just revved.

The engine needs to be at normal working temperature before it will work correctly. Don’t rule out the possibility that your O 2 sensor may not be working as it should, most of them have never been changed from when they were new.

Do you have a digital one or one like this?

that is like the exact one that I have. When i turn the car on it goes from like yellow to red instantly then goes completely off. I have run the gave for only a minute or 2 and no change. I guess the o2 is shot.
