I have an 89 Supra Turbo. On the Speedometer(?) it says "160 MPH". But do anyone of you guys know if an 89 SUpra can run up to 160 MPH, or just 140 MPH?

I've raced like a modified Camero once and I was going 120 MPH. I wanted to go more but it seems like the car cannot speed over 120 MPH. Maybe I just didn't hit on the gas pedal hard enough or maybe that's the fastest my car can run?

Plus, if it cannot go at least 160 MPH, how do I make it to run that much?

Thanks!

Oh by the way, that Camero it was pretty strong and fast, but guess what? He didn't burn my a$$ like I thought he could. I was like at least 20-30 yards behind him only. Not bad for a Stock Turbo Supra against a freakin big engine modified Camero LS or Camero (what the hell is the name I don't think I care something car...lol...sorry, I don't know much about Camero's.

i havent had time to do it yet, fastest record on this car so far is 135mph. however if my 03 tib could do 145, i have no doubt this one can do 160.

138 mph. 5200 rpm. 89 n/a. all the mods. stock injectors.
60*-75* nites. Long, straight road here in the desert. Stock size Kumho Ecsta tires. Speedos been certified acurate.

I expect turbos to better me. I do this 1-2x a month. Daily driver, don't want to blow it up. I just run it up there, then let it back on down. It was not thru climbing, but I was! I'll let you know what the very top end is, when I keep it floored till it won't climb anymore. Soon....

the speedo on my supra doesn't work......i converted from an auto to a 5 spd std, and haven't changed the speedo gear yet, but i have red lined it in 5th gear twice..........and i have no clue how fast i was going, but i will tell u one thing, i know i was hauling a$$ when it felt like the car was going to take off flying.....i couldn't feel the steering anymore. And as far as the racing camaros, mine is a 87 nonturbo and the only race i lost was against a z28 camaro...but my alt went out and i was driving home on battery only. these cars have mad potential, i am a mustang owner aswell, and i like driving my supra more than the stang. I do believe that with the supra being stock with mild mods, and my stang having as much as it does, the supra does very well staying up with it.
