Ive been looking for one but i have so many ppl all up in my ear telling me how any car w/ more then 100k miles is worthless and its done its time and is about to die. i really dont care if its sport roof or hard top. id prefer TT but Non-turbo is alright. i dont care the color or location. im in miami so if i have to travel i will. i want a stock engine tho b/c ive heard that if u buy a car w/ aftermarket parts that the perosn that installed them probably ran the crap out of the parts and thyre worthless now. if its a rumor please slaer it up. let me kno of any defects in the supra/ transmission doesnt really matter either auto, 5speed, or 6speed. idk how to drive stick but ill learn for a supra. please reply ASAP!!!

It's only a rumor. A well-maintained Mkiv Supra TT still has plenty of life left in it at 100K.

Among literally hundreds of examples, I have a close friend that bought his Mkiv Supra TT with over 90K miles. He proceeded to put a fuel system and single turbo on it, and regularly roadraced it ... on high boost. He's a former semi-pro circle track racer, so he really drove it hard, and had a lot of fun with it for years. Other than the auto transmission eventually not handling the single-turbo high-boost power he was putting through it, the car had no other problems. For what it's worth, I am 100% certain that his auto tranny would have given out even if it was brand-new (given the amount of power he was putting down, and his aggressive driving style). I also know of several others that purchased their Supras with 100K+ miles and have added another 50K - 100K miles with no unexpected/serious issues. I've got another friend with a bone-stock auto tranny and a 67mm single turbo that doesn't roadrace or run really high boost, but he does drive aggressively (eg. regular mountain 'runs'), and he's literally never had a serious problem with his Supra. Of course, if you go 'bpu' and run the oem twin turbos on high boost (with race fuel of course), you can't expect them to last forever. As a rough estimate, if you keep your Mkiv Supra TT totally bone-stock, and well-maintained, you should be able to get about 250K (fun!) miles out of it before any serious problems occur. For a higher-end 'GT sportscar', this kind of reliability is pretty amazing, imho! Again, in general, a well-maintained Mkiv TT is as solid as a rock.

Lastly, if you do decide to place a WTB (want to buy) ad, please post here:

P.S. Here's your previous post: Looking For A 1994-1997 Supra TT or NON-TURBO . ...and no, it was not posted in the proper area, based on the thread title. It was moved to the Buy/Sell Cars forum, due to that specific title. I suspect the reason you didn't get any responses in that forum is because no one had a car to sell you at that time. In the future, if you want an answer to a technical question (eg. "What is the mileage expectancy for an Mkiv TT"), you'll probably get an appropriate response if the thread has an appropriate title... Just mho.
