sti or 94 MKIV

hi guys.....just wondering what you guys would do

im debating on selling my sti for a 94 n/a and doing a twin turbo or turbo swap but want to hear what owners of supras think about this?

someone from hawaii is now selling a 94 na with 120,000 for 14,500. to me thats sounds ok but the blue book is 9,500, but i know here in hawaii this car is quiet rare (maybe like 20-30). can someone give me a little input on this?

basically do you guys think this is worth buying and swaping a new motor in it? or just keep the sti

thanks

Auto + Engine 3 Gs
6 Speed + Engine 4.5 Gs And Its In Your House

The Whole Swap Will Run You Like 7 Gs But The Extra 2-3 Gs In Recommended Stuff You Have To Change Will Ensure That You Are Running Fu*#$n Sweet With No Problems.. Doing The Swap Yourself Ofcourse. If Not Swaping Cost Will Be High.

I Would Do It If I Was In Hawaii. And Had Enough Ca$h.....

BTW: GO SEE HOW MUCH A 93 TT SUPRA GOES FOR IN BAD CONDITION. NOW MULTIPLY THE BLUE BOOK VALUE X2 AND SEE IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET IT.. GOOD LUCK. BLUE BOOK VALUE DOSE NOT APLY TO SUPRAS. PRICES GO FROM HIGH TO RIDICULUS..

Power output and acheivability of both cars are similar but the Supra is able to output more if money permits. The STI isnt a bad platform to begin with, have you looked at how much the insurance is going to be for a Supra, the general price range of OEM and aftermarket parts, the year of both cars. You need to just know if your willing to put alot of moenty and effort into something older and if its going to fulfil your needs. I would keep the STI and save myself all that headache.

yeah im still debating what to do.....im going to go from 8,000 miles to 120,000 in a second

does anyone on here have a lot of miles (100,000)? if so how does the motor run? clean?

i think thats my biggest worry about buying an older car

thanks a lot for the input guys

a 100k isn't a lot for supra. its a toyota, it should last atleast 200k if your respectful of it.

120k And Im More Than Fine.... I Dont Know A More Realible Motor When It Comes To Power....

thank you to all who have helped me out....i made my decision and i will find out how much insurance will cost first, then find out how much i can get a twin turbo motor for and base my decision on that

once again thanks to everyone who threw there two cents in

insurance? the supra will def cost you more in insurance...as stated before both motors can handle a lot of power it just depends on how much you want to spend on it...the supra will def. cost you more money to upgrade, the sti a little cheaper...though not that much cheaper...the 2jz is def. a reliable motor hands down i dont think anything comes closer...though maybe the rb motors from nissan...i would go with the supra if it was a tt ebcause that saves teh headache of doing a motor and tranny swap and itll save you some extra money...otherwise i would stick with teh sti
