Swapping the engine, wiring harness, ignitor, and resistor pack isn't that bad. You also may have trouble with emissions because the ecu you'll need to run the engine isn't designed to pass US specs. Yes, a VVTi GTE would be even tougher, because (for example) there's no such thing as an oem LHD VVTi wiring harness for the jza80. You'll have to take a Japanese-spec RHD VVTi wiring harness and custom-modify it for LHD. Even if you get all this done, like I said in the other threads on this topic, all you will achieve is an unbalanced automobile. It'll sit there and spin because the rims are too narrow. Then when you get going fast, which you will because of the hp increase, you won't be able to stop efficiently and consistently. Then your transmission and/or differential will give out because you're pushing too much hp through it. Sorry to be pessimistic/fatalistic here. My recommendation is to sell your n/a and save up for the full TT you clearly want instead. Either way, I wish you luck and hope you succeed in whatever route you choose to take.
