Full synthetic 10w30. Any brand is fine ... the absolute best-of-the-best is probably Amsoil.

Royal purple is just fine. Amsoil is only sold through independent (small specialized) dealers, and online, as far as I know.

Probably yes, but I honestly don't know about the n/a mkiv for sure. The TT uses 10w30. However, I do know that the n/a 2jz-ge vvti in the Lexus GS300 uses 5w30...
