JDM Supra

Ok,
So I'm over here in Okinawa and i'm wondering where to go with my 94 TT 6 speed Supra. (Phil - I know you are probably going to be the one to answer some or all of my questions so hello in advance!)
Before I get started, most of the mods I have were installed before I bought the car. It's in pretty good shape and I just want to go forward with it. It has:
HKS boost controller, intake, turbo timer, exhaust, (I think) an FCD, Boost meter gauge;
Apexi Speed meter, aftermarket side-mount intercooler, and some other minor mods.
What should I put on next? I was thinking a FMIC ???

Opinions please...

Hi :)

If it were a US-spec Mkiv TT, your next step would be a downpipe (to elminate the cats) 100% for sure. Do Japan-spec Mkiv TT's have to run catalytic converters?

Also, if it has an HKS FCD, I'd recommend getting that replaced with a GReddy BCC, since the FCD will not allow your #2 turbo to prespool properly (which will affect its longevity).

FMIC is a good idea too, along with some adjustable cam gears (preferrably JUN).

Thanks Phil!

BTW I am still trying to get in touch with my guy locally - I will let you know.
Thanks for the advice...yes, the cats are required over here as well, unfortunately. Can you recommend a downpipe? I have to see if I am running the FCD or not - I just don't know...but from what I have researched, the BCC is the way to go. Anything else you can recommend would be helpful.
Thanks!

Happy to help! :)

Here's a downpipe you may be able to locate in Japan:
http://www.rodmillenstore.com/prodin...?partID=T50012

Please let me know how the cam gears, fmic, and downpipe work out! Set the gears for -3e, +1i as a starting point, and then plan to dyno-tune using both the Apexi Speed meter and the cam gear settings.

Note your boost level will increase dramatically with a downpipe. Be sure you're always running the correct octane of fuel to match your max boost level. For 20psi, you'll need to add 100 octane fuel at about 25% of the fuel in your tank. In other words, in an empty tank you'd put 9 gallons of 93 octane together with 3 gallons of 100 octane.
(Note: I'm using ((R+M)/2) for the octane measurement...not sure if that's what they use in Japan).

Thanks Phil - YOU ARE THE MAN!

I believe the Japanese octane measurement is the same. So far I haven't boosted past 1.2 / 17 PSI with 93 octane. How much of a difference will a larger intercooler make? The surface area on the one I have right now is not very big at all...

The intercooler will drop pressure a bit, so you may have to run slightly higher boost to compensate. In return, you should notice about 15 - 20 rwhp gain ... depending on the thickness of the fmic, for about 15 seconds continuously on-throttle (quite a long time on-throttle, actually) until the metal in the fmic is fully heat-soaked.
