Steering issues
So the other day I'm driving home and by the time I get home the steering is pretty stiff and it's whining a little louder than normal. I park it and go inside. Today I checked the fluid and it looks fine so I start it and head for work. It's still whining but driving normal. About 15 minutes into the drive it starts to get harder to turn. By the time I get to work it's really hard to turn. It's a 45 minute drive to work. I pop the hood at work and my reservoir is empty! I look down and see fluid all around the bottom of the engine bay. What's the most likely problem? Bad pump that possibly caused a leak somewhere? Or busted line? It is weird that the warmer the car got the harder it was to turn. What do you think guys? :dunno:

It got hard to turn because your fluid was going out of the pump. Check the 2 ends of your steering rack. You may have blown a seal out one end. Like I did 4 years ago.

if you noticed it getting harded the night before you should have started checking around, not giving you shit just sayin,

well, it looks like I've got a busted pump. Finally got some time off from work to crawl under it and look. Fluid is coming out of the shaft. I think the pump is toast. Guess I'll be buying a new one. I took the belt off and it's not really that hard to turn it. Wonder how much power that pump robs? It's been reported that LS1 F-bodies gain 3 tenths in the 1/4 by disabling the power steering. Anyone try this on a Supra?
