clutch question !!
 

hey everyone i just tried to deal with my slipping clutch and relized the container that holds the dot 3 break fluid was damn near empty. didnt notice it till 2 months after i buaght the car. but i filled it up and bled the clutch dont know if car has to be on or not but i did it with the car off. anyways my situation is that the car ran better before i bled it and now that i have bled it, it slips alot more. anyone have any suggestions?

the clutch mechanism is pretty simple, theres the master cylinder clutch line and the slave cylinder, and the slave cylinder has a push rod that moves the fork, if you are in doubt of these parts theyre not too expensive to buy new if you know where to look

yea i know how the system works im just not sure why its worse after i bled it. its really odd how it got alot worse. and i kept the levels high so it didnt take in any air.and i supposed to press the clutch like 3 times and hold the clutch down when i release the bleeder screw or am i supposed to press it alot of times then keep a foot OFF the clutch when i turn the screw. i have never bled a hydrolic clutch before. so im just wanting some info ... cuz when i got someone to press the clutch down when i turn the screw it sprays out (which is normal) but when i tighten it and tell them to remove there foot from the pedel it doesnt come back up :S

are you bleeding it with the slave cylinder removed from the tranny? if so then yeah it wont come back up, but when you bolt it on the fork will force the piston back into the bore of the slave cylinder and the fluid will push the pedal back up

no i didnt take anything off the tranny i just lossened the bleeder valve. im getting to the point i think the clutch is too far gone. but im trying to make sure it just doesnt need a really good bleed, but i still get a concern to it sticking to the floor unless i pull the pedal up. then it stays up... any ideas?

pressure plate, clutch or release/throwout bearing might be a possibility?
