what you guys think?

ok so it just started to do this yesterday, it sounds like its missfireing or someone put some aftermarket cams in the car over night

weird idle

we checked the plugs - no problems
checked the injectors - when unplugging cylinder 4 injector clip, no difference in sound while all the others made the idle go down plugged it back in gave it some gas and WOO HOO white smoke out the ass, unplugged it again and pluged it back in no more smoke? whaa? it was sweet smelling and seriously looked like a BHG. and i wouldnt doubt it is since the car likes to over heat. i let the pressure out of the radiator while it was running the car started to idle fine.

i have to say though it sounds pretty bad ass in the morning when its cold, BLUB BLUB BLUB RRRRRRRRRAAAAARRRRRR

Run some injector cleaner or a qt of atf in your next fill up and run high octane.

Sounds like you just have some carbon build up.
We should always beware of a lurking BHG.

that #4 cylinder seems to be a dead cylinder. check for spark then fuel. or after you run it, take the plug out and crank it, if any water comes flying out, you got a blown head gasket!

west_side_supra 09-11-2007 09:06 AM

ok now let me ask you this, 2jz swap or fully rebuilt 7mgte with top of the line internals?

86SupraMan 09-11-2007 02:25 PM

another thing you could try instead of running high octane, is run med octane then buy a bottle of octane booster for like 5-10$, would save you some gas and get the same result.

as for the swap. id say 7m with best internals. thats what im plannin on doin with this junky engine i have, if u do the 7m rebuilt with studs and best internals possible, u can run a decent amount of boost, pretty much, those internals will probably make ur 7m better than the 2j. in any case, your supra would probably scream after a swap like that ;P

If it is done right, you could run at least 30psi. With the right turbo and fuel and tune, 700hp easy.

west_side_supra 09-11-2007 11:53 PM

my dreams come true :)
i've always wanted 700hp, but i dont think 30psi is going to be to safe with me maby 20-25, but with all those parts plus some over sized valves what would you say i would be pushing? i was looking at possibly doing the cams to
