Well let me refrase if your brake fluid is low it might cause the pedal to sink i guess and cause it to activate the brake lights, iv never heard of it happing tho. Anyway did you replace the switch that tells the car that the brake pedal is being pushed? I dont know were it is, but if heard of it happening to some people it was a simple case of it was bad and sticking.
