please no pink! j/k. if you go to a good re-upholstering shop, you can usually have a good leather job done for about 350-450 for the two front seats. did this on my camaro b4 i sold it. then again, i stripped the seats and just too the panels in as a pattern, then put the new ones on myself. i actually only paid about 235 IIRC.

anyway sorry to be off subject! continue

There's a guy on here with a supra with 300,000 miles plus

pandrade 03-05-2013 02:58 PM

145,362 on factory headgasket retorqued, new water pump and timeing belt

Ranma 03-05-2013 06:57 PM

My guy has 155k or so. The Toyota mechanic and my mechanic say not to increase the torque of the head bolts. I do not race my guy and drive for pure pleasure alone. A spring day with the top off is priceless! The head on my guy was cracked and wonder if increasing the torque on the bolts was responsible?

MA70-3.0GT 03-05-2013 10:43 PM

Nah, the factory torque spec is WAY too low. Possible re-torqueing could do it IF done in wrong order but probably more likely overheating from a bhg or putting cold coolant in a hot motor would cause a crack?

Anyway, think mine's on 130k miles or so, engine rebuilt with all new bearings, pistons, rings & re-con head before I got it (p/o/ blew it up big time somehow, was bits of piston in car!), then h/g blew right away with factory specs & he abandoned it.

only around 3/4000 miles between when I replaced h/g and torqued up nicely & when the turbo let go ages ago. Finally got a brand new turbo on it's way as we speak :bouncy:

MJG 03-06-2013 02:36 AM

89 turbo, origional owner with 46,319 miles.

i went on the tsrm and torqued it in the proper procdure of coarse checking if they where to proper specs in the first place, then went to the NEW proper specs. iv had no issues at all whith head gaskets( knock on wood)
