well

i guess my transmission is going to break soon i just drained tranny fluid today and found metal shavings in the oil that i could only see in the sun and i also put in the best synthetic transmission fluid there was and there was no help in that at all and i think my drive shaft is going to haha man this f$cking sucks

supraman121 08-30-2007 05:41 AM

Well I dont know why its whinning but if your not getting power like you should sounds like your clutch is slipping, maybe you just have a bad clutch in the car, i wouldnt replace the trans till you lose a gear or it completly breaks.

cyanide-is-a-way-out 08-30-2007 06:12 AM

well im definately sure it is the transmission making the sound its just horrible shifting into seconds is harder then heck and first through third now make the wining sound but 4-5 make no whining at all so what would happen if i went till it just broke?? wouldnt that mess up my car such as my clutch?? please help guys

cyanide-is-a-way-out 08-30-2007 06:23 AM

also if someone is willing to sell me a 5spd transmission for my car an 1987 toyta supra turbo witch is a stock transmission for this car i would like if you would post on here telling me so please i will pay for tranny and shipping

supraman121 08-30-2007 06:35 AM

If the Transmission goes i dont know if it would hurt the clutch or not, and to replace the transmission with the correct one you would need to get a r154 or if you cant find on of those you could get the 1jz trans and use your current bellhousing i beileve.

Heres a link to one i found in like 2 seconds http://www.jdmtigerjapanese.com/prod...roducts_id=129
You can find them on ebaymotors.com as well and you can try to get in the parts fourm section.

You might be able to find someone that can rebuild it for you.

well i tried looking evrywhere called all the junkyards around here no one carries an r154 tranny do you any other 5 spd trannys that are a direct fit by any chance?

supraman121 08-30-2007 11:50 PM

w58 thats the non turbo tranny it will fit your car but it cant stand as much power as the r154 tho.

oowee623 08-31-2007 01:31 AM

the w58 is strong just not as strong as the r154 i hear it can handle up to 400hp and people say the w58 shifts smoother than the r154, you can put a w58 on a 7mgte if yo dont plan on going above 400hp only difference is the driveshaft length and spline count

ok well i have a friedn that is a toyota tech i took my car into him put new tranny fluid in for me today and he road tested it and wow it shifts so much smoother and nicer but it still makes the buzzing sound in the tranny but i have a feeling itll be fine for quite a while still cause we drove it preeety hard and ran perfect still i also found out that we can do 2nd gear chirps with the wheels and fuck i didnt even know but we even pulled of a 3rd gear wheel chirp like 5 times like it was nothing didnt no the car could do that lol

supraman121 08-31-2007 04:39 AM

He might have flushed it out for you maybe that is all you needed lol.

cyanide-is-a-way-out 09-01-2007 02:58 AM

i was with him i dont think he flushed it i watched him the whole time we just emptied the old or rather new actually the valvoline 75w-90 i just put in but we just put in new 90w but it still buzzes while driving but oh well and god damint five minutes after i woke up today when i was on my way home i got a damn ticket fro doing 45 in a 35 how gay is that i get caught speeding when i dont want to but they dont catch me on the freeway when i am intentioanlly speeding howww gayyy

cyanide-is-a-way-out 09-01-2007 03:03 AM

and also do you know where i can purchase a w58 transmission and is it a direct fit onto the 7mgte?

oowee623 09-01-2007 09:50 PM

try a local tranny shop or junkyard it is a direct fit except the front half of the driveshaft is different and the slave cylinder is too. so is the pressure plate but the the clutch is the same oh and the release bearing is different too
