i looked around the forum but couldn't find what I wanted, so im makin a post: anyways

my idea is to somehow find the engine form the 98-02 supra and some how be able to put it into my 87, i know that I would have to upgrade my trans etc..... First off how much for a used engine, and second it this even possible to do, or is this just hopes and dreams??

Ya good luck with that search... umm have you even seen a 02? Probly not they dont make them last year the supra was made was 98, if you dont know that i wouldnt upgrade my car, and for a 2jz from a 98 is like 2900 for the front clips is that cheapest i have found one, and you would need to do more then just the trans more like new ecu, wiring harness, motormounts, your lookin at alot of money to get it in... cause labor is going to cost you alot.

i don know why i put 02 on there, anyways the work I was going to do my self, the only thing that my mechanic would do is to rebuild the engine thats it, everything else i can do.
thanks for the tip keep it comming

My suggestion is to pay a bit more for a JDM engine so you don't need to rebuilt it! Probably going to save money in the long run... here is an exemple of an import :

Well if he is going to rebuild it... it seems like your have lot of money if your looking for a 2jz i would rebuild your engine with new forged pistons, crankshaft, new vavles that can stand alot of pressure and then turbo charge it. I might be cheaper and easyer lol.

Damn jspec's prices are high. I can get the 2JZ for less than 900 dollars for engine only here in Kuwait, havn't found one with a manual gear though. So far I havn't had the ballz for a swap, I could go 1JZ but Ive only found them here with autos.

its totally possible just lots of work involved. if you get a jdm, get it rebuilt. you never know what kind of condition they are in and you dont wanna throw all that money at this project and the motor blow up just cause you didnt get it checked out.
