window and tach

sorry, but i gave up looking at tsrm
cuz it was giving me a headache

2 issues,
windows not working,
where is the fuse
where is the relay

stock tach is not working,
which connector is it?

tone loc 07-19-2007 03:49 AM

there was a thread that helped me out on the window search: passenger window wont open

I assume you have checked the relay cluster before the passenger door panel, under the glove box, ya?

I don't remember what they are sinse I only metered them once.

I went through this Tach issue and just ended up replacing it with a aftermarket one. The wire you looking for comes off the ignitor box and wires straight to the back of the gauge cluster. This wire is black and gives the tach its signal while there is two other wires involved in the tachs system the black one is the signal from the ignition system that moves it. The plug on the gauge cluster you are looking for is the one right behind the tach and the black wire is like the 6th or 8th one from the door over. Easiest way is to trace out the copper on the board on the cluster and see where it goes. The nice thing is n/a 7M's, 7MGTE, and 1JZ use the same wire to get a signal just in different spots. As for the connection comming from the hood to the dash for this wire look at the connector that runs up into the dash not the lower two it sits up in the dash and runs over to the cluster on a 1JZ it is the IG1 connector on a 7m it is MA2 but not sure it has like 10 or 12 pins you will see the black wire in it it is the only one. As for the window issue the wondows dont run off a fuse they are a straight shot. Check the window switches if the driver side switch goes bad then they both dont work just remember that it gets all the power to run to the passenger side.

i know this thread is kinda old,but i jus had the time to work on my car lately

still havent fixed the window problem yet
the tach imma do that this week and let everybody know the results

but back to the window. on prior post, the guy mentioned the relay cluster on the passenger side of the car

now please please please, does anybody know which relay it is?
or is there any fuses that i should be looking for?

need to get this fixed soon, and i cant get any help from the tsrm

Check the power running to the master window switch. The passenger side switch is powered through the master and if the master isn't recieving power the passenger switch won't work.

I don't know of anything else that's specific to the window's power. The 30A circuit breaker powers the master switch, but also the locks and power seat.

EDIT: heh, guess what both of your porblems have in common.... the 7.5A Gauge fuse. ;) Although I think if it were that fuse more things wouldn't be working.

if its the circuit breaker, then my locks and my seat wouldnt be working either but they work fine both of them, checked them earlier,
and which 7.5 fuse are you saying?

Supra2NR 08-15-2007 07:14 AM

ok i went thru tsrm again,

seems im missing two things, i dont know where to look for them but

where is the:
1)30A PWR CB
2)Power Window Main Relay?

cre 08-15-2007 07:50 AM

They're both in the driver's side kick panel. I suspect the 7.5A Gauge fuse is the culprit... it may not even be completely burned up, just not passing enough current.

It's the top left fuse in the main fuse cluster:

Imma go take a look at that,
But which one and where exactly is the main power relay?
