tear apart again ? did you ever remove the main crank pulley ?

OmeGa 07-10-2007 05:58 PM

I did the head gasket 4 months ago

yeah but did you ever loosen the main pulley on the crank ?
it's a MF to tighten and makes crazy noises when the engine is running if loose

Would that also cause the car to run like crap, because when I had to gimp it home I couldnt go over 2.5-3k RPM and max of 45mph with absolutly no get up. It felt like I was driving a 5 speed oversized golf cart.

no just sound like crap

OmeGa 07-17-2007 01:04 AM

Okay so I took it down to the cams and found the the gear that drives the CPS is chipped and messed up and there are shavings in the head by the first valve so I check it and the sound is coming from the first valve.

My question is, is it possible to take the cam out and replace the vavle and everything with out taking the head off. If so, how hard is it?

Come on now use your brain. Yes the head has to come off to replace a valve, thats the way it comes out, through the combustion side of the head.
