auto to manual conversion

I was wondering if anyone has converted a auto mkiii to 5 speed. If so let me know how hard it was, parts needed and all of that fun stuff. Thanks

im gonna do it soon your gonna need the following

manual flywheel
clutch
pressure plate
pilot bearing
release bearing
transmission r154 or w58
front portion of driveshaft make sure its the correct length
clutch pedal
brake pedal (its more narrow)
master cylinder
slave cylinder
clutch hard and soft line
transmission mount crossmember
driver side wing bracket
inspection cover
release fork
shifter assembly
shift boot

the hardest part has gotta be putting in the pedals cause of the amount of space you have. you also need to cut some of the metal where the shifter is so you have room to shift into 2,4 and reverse. then just take out the auto and drop in the 5 speed and there are 3 plugs near the starter 1 is neutral start, 1 is for reverse and the other is for abs. the 3 wire round plug is the neutral start, splice the black and white together to bypass the neutral start switch and/or clutch start switch, the blue one is needed for the reverse light. the 6 wire round plug is for the ecu to determine what gear youre on you only need the black one, then just splice the black and blue wire to the reverse sensor on your tranny to have working reverse lights, if you have abs the square plug needs no mods. and that should be it

will do, and the best places you can find these parts are the junkyard or the parts wanted section of the forum some parts are recommended you buy new such as bearings, the clutch, shifter bushings, and the flywheel buy you can get the flywheel machined, if youre really unfamiliar with the swap do your research on it before anything, ive been researching and gathering parts since early may and i still havent done it, but i plan on doing it as soon as i get a release fork. it'll help alot of you had a TSRM too as it will tell you step by step on removal and installation
