I changed the rear brake pads a while ago (first time job for me) and thought I might have mucked something up..

Just adding fluid is lazy/annoying ,but I would not call it "unsafe". As long as it's a slow enough leak that air isn't sneaking into the system on you ,it would be my opinion that you can put off the repair for a bit.
