jdm engine

i just bought a jdm 7mgte and i was doing some research and found that i need to do a few things. i found a site and it said i have to do something coolant hose in the back of the head, oil sender (dont know what these are), coolent temp sender(dont know what that is either). So if someone can help out and tell me exactly what to do with the coolant hose and the senders that would be very helpful. And do i need to have a EGR?? THANKS

well. lol.
I don't know if a tsrm will do you any good on a jdm engine.
You have some researching to do.

Im not sure about the sending units but the coolant pipe should be easy to figure out.
The JDM engines come out of right hand drive cars so some things are swapped around in the engine bay like the heater hose, core and control valve. The piping is designed on the back of the block to accomidate either a lhd or rhd car. Just swap the heater hose and plug around and your done.

the oil sender and coolant sender are wired to your gauges and actually tell you what oil pressure and coolant tempurature your at i believe.

ok the oil sender is on the exhaust side of the block, its under the coolant pipes.

the coolant pipes need to be replaced with a us spec one or you can do what i did and by pass the heater

i went from the top of the head to the lower coolant pipe. then the top coolant pipe goes to the other on the head.

your thermostat housing needs to be changed with the us spec one. in the top pic is the jspec one. the bottom one has the us spec one. the u.s. spec one has vaccum lines goin to it.

the throttle body also needs to be exchanged for a us spec on because the linkage is different. YOU CAN USE THE JSPEC ONE BUT YOU NEED TO MAKE THE THROTTLE LINKAGE WORK.

and if you will need to put an egr valve on there along with a egr cooler plate on the back of the head if you have to pass emmissions tests.

The oil pressure sender is under the exhaust manifold just forward of the oil filter.

Those sure are blue. Is that ride running??

Yeah the oil pressure sending unit has a big grey rubber boot covering it with a 1 wire connector you really can't miss it, just take the accordian hose off and you will see it.

The temp gauge sending unit is on the water outlet housing (not the thermostat housing) and is the bottom most sensor with a 1 wire connector. Take off the power steering reservoir and mounting bracket and you will see it. Its below the green 2 wire connector for the EFI ECT (Engine Coolant Temperature sensor for the ECU).

You have to replace these if you want your stock US gauges to work.
