petrol

My 1986.5 7MGE uses a LOT of fuel... so much that now i can barely get 320km out of one tank, which i think is about 65 litres?

Anyone, please help me i'm stumped as it never leaks petrol when its parked. I'm at a point of selling the car because i can afford to run it anymore.

Also, please let me know how many kms some of you guys get from a tank.

Sounds like a tune up with plugs wires and air filter and rotor and dist cap.

I have a 7M-GTE with the super monitor and my gas mileage just hit 17.0mpg, it was hovering around 16.9 until today.

You should replace the O2 sensor, and the ECT sensor along with the air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor.

Conversion:

17 MPG (miles per gallon) = 4.5 MPL (miles per liter) = 7.24 KMPL (kilometers per liter)

I don't know the volume of the fuel tank, but if its 65L like you said then I get 470 Km to a tank.

You're too intelligent for your own good HH.

Take a break bro. LOL.

my N/a was getting about 8 mpg then i did O2 and plugs wires, cap, rotor, and cone filter. and it raised to 15 mpg

15mpg is still not good. I'll be curious to see what I'll get with everything I have done to her. I think I did mods that were aimed to create power and efficiency.

We'll see, right. Horse Power and Efficiency don't normally go hand in hand.
Interesting none the less.

2nd thought..., 15mpg in city or town is probably not too bad. Do the o2 sensors stop working??? Or do they just get clogged to the point of dying??
How much are 02 sensors?? A left nutstickle, I bet.

Thanks guys for your input, it ended up being the air intake tube contributing quite a bit, was leaking air badly as the tubing is cracked.
