5 speed issues

I recently got a Supra project. The car wont go in 1st 3rd or 5th because the dash is in the way. Are all dashes the same or could they have put in an automatic dash?http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...g?t=1178235462

I honestly don't know what the deal is lately with everyone buying half built half torn down supras.

Cause it's not hard enought to work a clean one. It looks like someone did a tranny swap and you took it upon yourself to finish the job.

Toyota parts guys are your friends. How about a pic of the engine???

Maybe you could try a short shifter.

A short shifter might get you the clearance you desire.

MIGHT.

is the black part all the way on the grey dash? there is a little button were you put the key in. this button is to take the key out. the black part of the dash has to be behind that button. get us a pic of the engine and tranny if you can

Its a 5 speed stock. The dash is also in the right way, its behind the little black button on the ignition.

Looks like to me the shifter is in backwards. It has a slight bend to it that would have it in the right place if you turn it around with the boot. There are Three boots by the way, two rubber and the shift boot which should be leather.
I uploaded two pics of my car with the shift boot off and the knob off. I tore off the outer pipe also which is why my shifter looks different.
You may have to remove the lower half of the console to remove the rubber boots.
The first pic is in nuetral the second is in 1st gear.
