I have a stock igniter off of my 91. I replaced with a blaster coil.

It worked fine, never missed. I'll sell it to you, make me an offer.

I'll even hook you up with pics.

ignitor? they are diff from coil packs. im confused as to what you are talking about. the ignitor on a turbo is behind the fuse box, is that what you replaced?

supramacist 05-01-2007 08:49 PM

I'm speaking of the coil in the ignition system.

Did I just totally miss the boat here or what?? I thought I was on topic.
Long day building the supra.

the igniter is fine cause theres power coming from it to the coilpack i think it may be the coilpack that is having problems cause there is no power coming from it to the spark plugs.

Toyota87Supra 05-01-2007 11:33 PM

the power goes from the battery to the igniter(behind the fuses), then the igniter goes to the ignition coil(behind the brake booster) and the coilpack(on top of engine above spark plugs) from th coilpack comes the high tension cords(aka spark plug wires) into the spark plugs.

ok you said ignitor but meant coils. gotcha now

Toyota87Supra 05-01-2007 11:41 PM

according to my multimeter every thing from battery to spark plugs in in excellent condition, there is power to everything and the resistances are fine, any other reason why i cant get spark?

j3pz 05-02-2007 12:39 AM

im having the same problem with mine. got 12v to the coils, coil resistances arent quite in spec but are all consistant (too much of a coincidence that all three are bad, also found someone on supramania with similar problem and ruled it out), cps resistances with in spec. the only things i couldnt do were the secondary test for the coils and the second test for the ignitor assembly.

ive taken my wire and plug all the way to the battery to ground it and still no spark. if you figure it out, lemme know

Toyota87Supra 05-02-2007 02:36 AM

It finally starts again. i sprayed starting fluid right down in the spark plug hole and it started up and ran for a few seconds. I thought the gas was bad so i drained it and it was like a dark yellow color so i am goin to get some new gas tomorrow. Im not sure if all the spark plugs a giving spark but ill let you know tomorrow when i get new gas.
