Default Gas cap door spring

I was wondering if anyone could post a picture of their gas cap door because mine wont spring open when I pull the release.. obviously some kind of issue with the absence of a spring in the gas cap door. please and thank you

haha. oh sorry your serious. i actually have the same problem. i usually just wedge something under the release lever and then run around to the door and open it, start pumping gas, then remove the object. im content with it, but some other may not

The spring steel thingy will break eventually. On my Camry, I got one of those little springs that came with the electric fan mount that you use to mount it to the radiator.

You can probably find something at Lowe's or Home depot.

I used a 'self-tapping' screw, and mounted it inside the door area to the body. Never goona have a problem again.

Before the spring, I tried using some firm foam rubber, but because the door is closed 99% of the time, it took a 'set', and lost its springy-ness.
