I'm looking at buying an MKIII, but it has a few issues with it, and because I'm a newbie, I do not know what will be the rough estimates to get things fixed. I plan to do the work myself, I guess I just need prices of parts, what might be a long/short job, and what might be a major/minor issue. The car's a '88 Supra Turbo, hard top, 5 speed, 140k miles. Body is in good condition. Interior is decent. But there's a bit of work to be done on the car:

Problems/Needs:
Battery
Front and Rear Brakes (Rotors and Shims)
(4) tires (the ones on the car are nearly bald), will need to buy stock size tires
L/rear strut blown
Both upper and lower ball joints very loose
Power steering rack seals blown
Outer tie rod ends
Cooling system is very rusty; needs total flush (hopefully only that)
Needs clutch soon / grabs all the way at the top
Sunroof doesn't work

Good:
New engine and turbo, ~20k miles
It's a stock car. No mods.

What would be the value for a car like this? (US$ please :) Thanks for the help.

me personally i wouldn't pay too much for the car, maybe a 1000 at most, new engine is nice , but everything else that is wrong with it, is gonna be time consuming, and cost some money. Such as the steering seal blown, is it just leaking or is there internal damage where you are gonna end up having to change it out. Find out why the cooling system is rusty, probably been sitting for a while. I mean if your gonna do all the work yourself, take your parts list and go to your auto parts store, get prices, and then make the guy an offer, and if there is any problems you can just show the guy look, i understand it has a new engine with 20k on it, but its gonna cost me this much money for all these parts. Another thing make sure he can show proof of the engine being new and only having 20k. should be able to show you a work order with the mileage of the vehicle at which they installed the engine, and then check the mileage now.

Thanks for the info. Others, if you have differing opinions please put it in; I'd like to know what experienced supra owners think before i dive/dont dive into this car.
