I had a Cam position sensor priced out at a Toyota dealer last year and it was $500. And it is a dealer only part.
But you can run some more tests to determine if you cps is bad or not. You can inspect the air gap between the signal rotor and the pickup coil projection. Just look in the TSRM if you don't know what I'm talking about. You can also check the resistance of the pickup coils. All of this information is in the TSRM page IG-16. You might also want to test the igniter. That info is on page IG-15. |
thank man
well this is what happen i checked the CPS today with me and my uncle and cousin and all my cousin did was turn the CPS to the right and guess what...the car started up better then before and soudns better. TUrn out that the previous owner retarded it and now so far its working fine ill update if it messes up again..thank tho hack

I just took it for granted that your timing was set properly.
I highly recommend you set base ignition timing. You need a timing light and must jumper terminals T and E1 with the engine at full operating temp. Base ignition timing should be set to 10 degrees BTDC. |
yea im going to as soon as i get enough money.. but you wouldnt happen to know how to install an hks turbo timer type 1 or even wha the rpm signal wire color is and wha color and were to find it and the speed sensor wire too would u if you can help me with this thank you
