Well I've had my supra for 3-4 weeks now and decided to do my first cheap as hell mod....I'm broke this car uses a lotta gas. Anyways I wanted to redo all the lighting in my car to one color except the maplights. I want to have ultra bright white maplighs. I was wondering what type of bulbs does the maplight use. I pulled out a bulb that said A12V8W...I'm guessing that means type A, 12volts, 8 watts. I need to know the code for the bulb so I can get an aftermarket LED bulb. Thanks. Also I need to know what types of bulbs are used for the guages and on the auto shiter console as well as the door markers and the floor lighting.

On a side note: What colour do you guys think would make a nice theme? I have narrowed my options down to : orange, yellow, white, light blue.

You can't replace the map lights with brighter bulbs, as the amperage will over load the circuit, and they will also run too hot and melt things up there.

You can use bright LEDS, as they run much cooler. I bought a 3pk of green ones at Pepboys for $5. They come in several different colors. They are very bright.

I used them by making a little black flat panel and putting them where one of the coin holders was. I hooked them into all my electric cooling fans so I would know when power is going to each fan. I had to paint the lenses black because they were so damn bright, it was blinding at night. Now enough green shows (even daytime) to see ok.

Also, in the past I have removed all the bulbs from the dash and painted them with fingernail polish to get the color I wanted.
