hi everyone. hate to start a thread that probably exists 200 times but I can't find what I'm looking for..... I just bought my 1st supra, stock 88 stick car. I have seen and understand all the available upgrades, but, my question is, is there a turbo upgrade that is a DIRECT bolt-on? Is that a TO4 flange on the stock manifold or a T3 or???? I want to just unbolt old turbo, bolt on new turbo and go. also where does one get a fuel cut defender? how much power will a stock turbo make? I know, a lot of questions, but easy ones for all of you in the know. Any help? Thanks all :)

turbonetics sells an aftermarket exhaust manifold that accepts a t4. stopped selling the upgraded ct-26, which was a bolt on turbo assembly that could handle 450hp-easily. with a t4 you still need an adapter flange to run the exhaust in the right direction.

Thanks, I'll look into it. I'm only looking for about 350 or so to the tires. Can I get that with the stock turbo, or better yet can you tell me the recipe for this? I know I need at least 550cc injectors, fuel cut defender, 3" exhaust and of course boost, is that it? Thanks in advance for the help!

not on stock turbo.

280-300hp on stock turbo assembly
intercooler hard piping and upgraded intercooler
3in exhaust
upgraded clutch
bov that can handle 15-20 psi
boost controller

350hp+ on t4 (with everything above)
injectors
afm
fuel cut defender or aem management system
metal head gasket
arp head studs-recommended

there are a few other ways but i cant give away all my secrets... :D

sorry, sometimes some family secrets stay with the family. hmmm an ls1 turbo'd. sounds nice and tempting but how much boost is the plastic intake holding??

mines stock, been holding 7lbs for about 5k miles now. lot of guys are running over 10 woth out a problem. check out corvette forum - forced induction.

On the Fuel Cut Defencer, went with the HKS product. It DOES assist with the FC related to factory limitations (MAP sees more than 11 PSI). It does NOT override the AFM cutoff when mixture goes lean at high boost because your injectors cannot keep up. That's a dangerous situation,a and trust me - you WANT the cut to happen at that point. One warning - the wiring diagram provided with the product really sucks - it shows you a pin-out, but does not tell you if you are looking at the plug, or the socket. I actually found the correct wiring (after attempting theirs) on the supramania forum. It's out there on the web- not hard to find. The biggest gain you will have (once breathing is maximized is controlling the mechanical wastegate with a computer controller. I went with the AEM boost guage product, and it was a snap to install, and WOW!! boosting up to 28 pounds now, and having a blast!!
