backfiring/bogging/shutter - only at 3k rpm at heavy throttle
Hello everybody
I have a 89 7MGTE with an A/T which I swapped last year for a JDM (A341E) with a new Torque Converter: When I accelerate hard, after 3000 RPM, the car feels like it hangs there for a few seconds (1~2 sec), then it will continue to accelerate. I don't get any tranny code, and the tranny oil looks and smell right, and I did a tranny flush a couple of hours ago, so i don't think is my tranny. Have any of you guys had this problem before? any suggestion will be appreciate. Thanks |

i had that issue with my 82, and it was the mass air sensor. if you have a buddy with a spare, or will let you borrow the one off his car, try it out and see.
