progress

Well I found the prolem last night, the ground wire to the coil pack wasn't complete. So now it is runinning, rough, but still running, I have a bad vacuum leak from somewhere, it diesels bad, and I can get about 2 good pedal to the floor accelerations then after that I can push the pedal and no response. It runs hot, but I dont think its a bhg due to Ive got good compresion. Im going to try to do diag. to see if I get anything. then will go from there. Thanx to all.

When you say it diesels bad do you mean it continues to run after you shut the car off? Is this a turbo car? If that's the case you might want to check base timing, all you need is a timing light, but you must disable the electronic advance before you start. Having the timing too advanced can cause after-run AND overheating. On the other hand its possible to have a cooling passage to cylinder BHG and still have good compression. Are you losing coolant and cant find where its going?

I used dieseling in the wrong terminoligy, meaning I know its used for "running after the ignition is turned to the off posistion". It actually is running like a diesel, like lopes I guess. I have treid to run diagnosis, but I have not come up with anything, so either it not working, im not doing it right, or the diag. port aint working. I used a timimng light on it yesterday and it was in time. I am going to test fuel pressure today, and also recalibrate the TPS. As far as the water, Im not losing any, and I need to replace the upper radiator hose. Which way does the water flow by the way? The thermostat is new, and I had seen somewhere on here to raise the front of the car to get the air out of the water, so I drained the water last night, ran some dawn through it, ran clean tap water through it, flushed the system twice with distilled water. Then filled it up with anit-freeze, distilled water mixture, and some of that "watter wetter" mixture. If it is a BHG shouldnt the oil be watery. I've got the oil draining now, so Ill check that in a while. But I got some "lucas" additive, and some "stp knock stop". Well Ill try to post a video some hoe of what its running like. I guess I can post it on youtube and drop the link here.

"Which way does the water flow by the way?"

Coolant flows out of the thermostat housing, through the upper radiator hose, to the top of the radiator, down through the radiator and back to the engine through the lower radiator hose.

I know that was a weird ?, i was checking though because it seems that mine is flowing oppisite. My camera dont have sound...ARGHHH...

sounds like a bad CPS or coil pack. lol. Did you try pulling codes yet? And dont put that STP crap in your car. Dont put any of those MPG or octane boosters or anything like that in either. And you can have a BHG and there is no external signs whatsoever, Unless you pretty much take the engine apart. And yes overheating can be caused by a BHG, But lots of other things too. What did your coolant look like when you took it out? Any rust, particles, smell, color, etc. It will smell pretty bad if its been exposed to oil or combustion gasses. I always tell people this, Your nose is the greatest tool. Once you learn how to use it that is.
