My Girlfriend lives in San Diego, CA. I am going to be moving down there in about 2 to 3 months from now and I have a JDM 7MGTE. When I register for tags and all over there will the JDM Engine Fail the SMOG Tests? How do I get around that? If a USDM 7MGTE is the only way then does anyone know where I can find them. I find all kinds of JDM's but never USDM's. Even on EBAY its no good. What do I do?

all you need to pass smog is get the egr cooler setup from a usdm engine
find it at your junkyard etc
i think i did see one on ebay recently

but i couldn't tell you how exactly to set it all up as our engines (in new zealand & aussie etc) are jdm

well i suppose i can't speak for japan but nz currently doesn't have any emissions testing ;)
