throttle body

I a trying to take my intake off my 7mgte, Ive taken all the bolts, elec. connections, and hosses off like the book says, but it still wont budge. I have tried using a mallet but it wont budge. Any ideas?

Towards the front of the intake there is this snorkel that goes under the passengerside headlight (not all the way but for the most part). Its tricky getting this out but if you pull back (towards the windshield) it'll move.

Also, make sure you get ALL the bolts.

And if you pull hard enough the accordian hose has enough give in it to allow the intake to come out.

are you trying to take the whole thing out or just the black dome thing at the end?

i know mine was tricky
just keep on messin with it

Yeah raven, sorry about that. I meen the throttle body. I have got the chamber seperated from the peice that connects to the head about 1/16", But something is holding it back. But now that yall brought it up Im looking at re-routing the air intake. Id like too see some pics of what ppl have done.

Check the underside of the throttle body ipe they have bolts that hard to see and frusterating to get off.

there is also a small coolant hose and the fuel feed line that have to be removed...

make sure u unbolt the egr valve its next to the firewall its kind of tricky a 12mm short socket with a 6inch extension should do the trick. theres two nuts top and bottom.

Thanx yall, After I edited the post earlier I went out and felt around, sure enough there was a bolt on the bottom side closest to the firewall. When I pulled it out I found that a small hose and been broken bout it has like an inch disk kinda thing. I couldnt find anything about it in the book. Ill try to post a pic later. Will a gasket set from the local parts store be good? Or do yall recomend sumpin else? Is there an upgrades to the sytem that I can do right now. Im going to port them out, but I was wondering If there was a diffrent t-body, or intake? For ex. my buddy has an 87 300z. He removed his stock intake, t-body, and dist. and replaced with pathfinder items, which added alot of power. I was thinking about fabing an aluminum intake.

thats a filter ,the disk looking thing you are talking about, it just hangs there, nothing to hook up to.

as far as your buddys 300, it probably added low end torque, thats what the pathfinders are great with but as horsepower, he probably lost a few ponies on the conversion.
