Afm

Guys, we went out and drove our supra for the first time. first of all it was not a fun time. first, the oil feed line to the turbo blew. so we fixed it on the side of the highway. then, later that night, it blew again. not only did it smoke alot, but it caught on fire. yeah, that was pretty freaky. ok, now that everyone has had a laugh. i cant seem to find anyone who can make a steel braided line for this. i want it to come from the treads in the block, and straight to the turbo. yes, its a after market turbo. any help there is appreciated. and last but not least it keeps throwing a code 24. something about a air temp sensor. which my thought is the afm?? Am i right. if so, were can i find a resonable afm that fits the hmmmmm i think its the lexus one, so we can eventually run bigger injectors?? or can i do something else to get this thing to idle. it just jumps around and then dies. i hate messing with the throttle to keep it running. thanks again guys..

how hard were you guys pushing the car?
maybe thats why the oil line bursted

how big is the turbo?

ZauggIt1 11-15-2006 01:06 AM

its just a stock casing with a garret cartridge. its set for stock boost right now. my main problem is my idle. it keeps coming up with code 24. does that mean that my afm is bad?? if so, were can i find the bigger one so i can put bigger injectors on it??

well the lexus afm is what most pple get to upgrade it
and maybe 550's?

ZauggIt1 11-15-2006 01:18 PM

Yeah, but if i get the lexus afm, i do not have to get the 550s right away do i?? or do i have to upgrade the whole fuel system before i put the lexus afm on it.

So know one knows if it will hurt if i run the bigger afm with the stock injectors and pump. or do i have to upgrade the whole fuel system before i get the lexus afm??

Supra2NR 11-17-2006 03:07 AM

i think ur gonna need the injectors with the new afm
cuz the new afm will make ur car think its getting more air
so it has to send it more fuel
and with small injectors
comes running lean
and then kaboom

So does anyone know were to get a stock afm for cheap????????
