knock sensors are located under the intake manifold on the block . i'm pretty sure they are green they are about a foot apart high on the block . it's hard to see them
*sigh* like I said can someone take a picture the oxugen sensor hd a green connector too....
if urs is an n/s, the knock sensor is on the firewall or very near it. the turbo 1 has 2 on the block, the n/a has 1.
Its on the block twoards the firewall under the intake I will try to find a pic.
Here is a pic of a turbo block. Yours will be the back one. Or at least thats how mine was. My connector was brown though. Hope this helps...

Hey to be an ass but that is not the Intake side....
Hmm on my car it is... Intake on Left hand side, exhaust on Right hand side. Or vise versa if you're facing the engine.

it is an intake side. exhaust manifolds dont even look like that. exhaust manifolds/ headers dont look that clean.
lol maybe he is talking about the inatke tube.... I dunno but ya man thats the intake side. Did someone put your motor in backwards???
That's defiantly the intake side, I took the photo when removing the engine
this summer. The UK sup`s cant be that much different than the US. |
Photo of the same engine after rebuild and reinstalled.

Okay I am striaght u-p confused now. When facing the engine the intake tube and exhaust maifold is on the LEFT SIDE. Inside the exhaust manifold is the OXYGEN sensor. so if I am facing the car which side is the knock snesor and if it is on thje left side where is it in reference to the oxygen sensor?
When facing the car, it's on the right side. The intake tube starts on the left side, goes over the top of the engine, through the throttle body and goes into the intake manifold, which is on the right side. Underneath the intake manifold is the knock sensors.

Thank you...man changing these damn things is gunna be harder than i thought...
Ya its a bitch.
