Hey guys, i was woundering if anyone knew where i could pick up a cheap head gasket set for my 89 turbo auto. found one for 180 but was told to keep looking because i can get cheaper

are you looking for a stock head gasket?

i can get them here for $80nzd which is like $50usd
your best bet is champion or elmhurst toyota and tell them you're on supraforums and they'll hook you up ;)

i can get a brand new stock napa head set gasket for you under $150 including shipping/handling for you...

just let me know...

whats napa? and is it any good? i mean i got told the the car and the gasket will get sent away for machine work? i dont understand... im new to fixing cars but not new to driving the hell outta them... lol msg me back please also links to headgaskets and perhaps one step cooler spark plugs would be great :P

get some hks steel head-gasket 1.3mm if youre not plannin to abuse it. but if you wanna make sure that it wont BLOW up for shit. get the 2mm one.

If the head and block are still in good shape then go for the stock Toyota head gasket and use some ARP studs or head bolts. The gaskets will hold up under some power improvements, but the biggest problem are the head bolts, but going ARP will eliminate that, so a metal head gasket is not really necessary.
