Having some idle problems...please help, details inside

Hello all, this is my first post for these forums, I am now the proud new owner of my 1989 Toyota Supra Turbo with the 5spd. Bought from my friend for $1300, it stopped running and they have 6 cars and did not want to work on it any more. Got the Car on Friday and got it running late Saturday, ended up being a bad battery, where as his dad thought the ECU was friend.

So here is what I am dealing with, got it fired up, but it is doing several things, it won't hold idle until it has been warmed up for about 10 minutes, it idles at about 1800RPMs, when I adjust the idle screw and bring it down to 650RPMs (i think thats where its supposed to be at), it will sputter and die. When I took it on the road I would be petal to the ground and the car would slowly accelerate until it hits about 3000RPM where it is a bit better.

The car has a new head gasket done, ARP head bolts, torqued down to where it should have been. New water pump, new starter, new set of injectors, iridium spark plugs, new wires. I am throwing a low coolant level overflow light (the birdcage) and it is about 1/4 filled in the resevoir, but it was sugested that it could be the sensor in there. Any suggestions are very much appreciated.

Here is a couple pictures of my new baby...

...oil is not from the supra, from one of my roomates cars.

Make sure your CPS is timed right, Then use the tsrm and a voltmeter to check for correct resistance and output voltage on your 02 sensor, afm, tps, water temp senor, etc. Make sure all the sensors are correct. The slow acceleration is probably because the base timing is wrong. Does it smoke at all? it could also be a boost leak of some kind. Look for black smoke. And does it backfire? backfiring when you floor it can be the TPS set wrong. Oh and just fy cps = cam position sensor Tps = throttle position sensor AFM = air flow meter, mass airflow sensor, whatever you want to call it.

How do I get to the CPS and adjust it? It does not backfire and there is no smoke coming out of the exhaust what so ever.

Do you have a turbo? Its on the passenger side where the distributor is on the na. Its at the front of the block right behind the thermostat housing. It has a plug coming out of it, and it looks like a distrubtor except without the spark plug wires. Then you need to get a timing light(follow timing light insturctuons), But there 40$ or so if you dont have one already. and to set your base timing. Im not sure exactly what its supposed to be, Ill find out what its supposed to be

It is the turbo model, so where would it be if it's in a different area?

im really sorry about this
i dont mean to take the topic away

but my friend (that i make money out of)
has a s15 sylvia
the car backfires horribly, and flames do come out
and sometimes it dies after when its floored for a long time
its has a ka24 engine with a turbo

but how can u stop this from happening
im jus looking for ideas here
cuz i gotta get his car faster (more money for me)
so i can finnaly get another mk3

once again im sorry for taking the thread

Its where i described. Turbo has a cps, N/A has a distributor. And supra2nr, Im not familiar with the silvia chassis/motors at all, I kust know the n/a ones are slow...lol but anyways When do the flames come? when he gives it gas or lets off? Flames usually mean something is timed wrong, And its dumping too much fuel at the wrong time or igniting the spark plug too late, And if its a swapped turbo Id bet its the stock ecu not liking the boost. Anyways give me a few more details and i can help, like, was it swapped? when exactly does it backfire? and smoke when it backfires?
